I became interested in using I/O devices and computers to make art in 1999. During my undergrad a visiting artist, Andrew Sonpon (now practicing law), came to interview for a position. He talked about his work and opened my eyes to art and technology. At that time my majors were art and computer science. It was only natural to merge my interest.
During graduate school I starting helping out with the ArtBus project by writing a program that would allow other applications such as Flash to communicate with the ArtBus. I was focusing on communications through TCP as Rob Drinkwater was working on OSC. Since then our programs have evolved and merged.
